Intelligent Jungle never really died. But for over two decades, it stuck closely to the shadows.

However, a recent revival has spawned a collection of artists seeking to capture the childlike essence of a hopeful future that was most prevalent at the tail end of the 90s. A spirit spoiled with the dreamiest of sounds, the brightest of colors and the most geometric of shapes.

Sawteeth is one of those people, though this time around, he's presenting his first physical release: Jungle Mix #2. The South Korean native is only a teenager yet has done his due diligence to capture that authentic, chillout feel reminiscent of early 3D renders and one-off dubplates at Birmingham raves.

It's worth highlighting that this is a cassette release—one accompanied by three radio-friendly ambient bangers and a fourth, extended track meant for those late night sets. There's something oddly magical about the sounds of amen breaks and crystalline synths rolling off compact, analog tape. It may even remind some of you of the days when you could buy a handful of bootlegs at your downtown marketplace for a reasonable price.

This is the first release on the newly formed label Got The Bug Records, which is strictly for electronic dance music only.
