Who is Hasbrouck Heights? To be honest, Got The Bug Records has no clue. Two months back, the label received a message from (what we suppose) was his email address containing a photo of him, along with the .wav files of all of his tracks and a way to send him payments. He stated it was his first finished work in nearly two years and that he believed it would be in good hands on the Got The Bug Records label.

But even though this is supposedly his first project in almost two years, we could find no trace of him online whatsoever. No social media or anything. When the owner of the label tried to reach back out to Hasbrouck Heights, he was met with silence. It was almost as if he had just dropped off the face of the earth, and all he left was a few details.

From what the title of the album suggests, Hasbrouck Heights is a big fan of House music. However, there’s more to it than just that. Sueño Lo-Fi is an amalgamation of the popular styles of House that we’ve all come to know and love over the years, ranging from the deep and 303-induced acid squelches of late 80s Chicago, to the Balearic beach sound of early 90s Italy and even to the more minimal styles of today and tomorrow. The catch, though? These tracks have been sent through the wringer, creating a dreamlike, warm and dirty sound reminiscent of a cheap bedroom 4-track recorder.

Hopefully, wherever Hasbrouck Heights is, he’s aware that he is about to create a cult following.
